NAKASEC VA has compiled information (and we’re continually updating it) about federal, state, and county-level resources relevant to those who are affected by the coronavirus and its impacts in Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, & the City of Alexandria. We hope that these compilations are helpful to those in our communities who, under the inadequacies of this nation's healthcare system, labor laws, & leadership, have been made more vulnerable to hardship in this global health crisis. Topics include: which federal services & businesses are open or closed, how to stay updated, healthcare (COVID-19 information + testing), unemployment insurance, social security, citizenship applications, food distribution by schools & nonprofit organizations, direct federal aid, student loans, small business & non-profit loan assistance, domestic violence, eviction suspensions, utility shut-offs, public charge, how to report racist attacks, ways to help locally, etc.
These guides are also translated to Korean & Vietnamese! To learn more about why we began this project and these much-needed translations, read our interview with the Fairfax County Times about our resources and the importance of language access for our first-generation and limited-English-proficient community members.
