Youth Power Academy Spring 2016

The Korean Resource Center's Youth Power Academy (YPA) is a 7-week program for high school students that seeks to develop progressive leaders among Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) youth by combining education, advocacy, and service. By participating in YPA, students will learn about the issues that impact the Asian American community, develop leadership skills, and creatively seek solutions to community issues. APPLICATION INFORMATION

Date: Every Saturday from 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM (April 9 to May 21, 2016)
Location: KRC Office (3660 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 408)

Program Details:
• Participants are required to participate in field work.
• Participants may volunteer at KRC for 4-6 hours during the weekdays to complete their field work.
• Participants will receive volunteer credit hours upon successful completion of the program
• $40 membership fee

Eligibility:
• Currently in, entering, or just graduated from high school
• Demonstrated interest in social justice or public service
• Can commit to all 7 weeks of the program (every Saturday from October 17 - December 5)
• Preference to low-income or immigrant youth
